We recently went to a conference and were introduced to the exploits of polar explorer Ben Saunders. He led the first ever return journey to the South Pole on foot via Shackleton and Scott's route in 2013/14. Oh, and on top of this he skied solo to the North Pole in 2004.... Fair to say he gets out a fair bit!!
After hearing about his treks we did a bit of research and we tracked down a fantastic TED talk Ben did at TEDSalon a couple of years ago in London. The title already had us hooked - "Why bother leaving the house?"
In his 10 minute talk he convincingly lays out the reasons for why we should all get out more, travel and explore. You don't neccesarily have to trek to the North or South Pole, but just leaving your comfort zone is something everyone should be doing.
Watch and listen to his talk below and let us know what you think!
Hopefully you'll find it as inspiring as we did!
